Em Bennett
is a journalist based in Brooklyn, New York and the Greater Appalachian region. A native West Virginian, she studied journalism and photography at Point Park University’s School of Communication where she oversaw publication as editor-in-chief of The Globe. She was a Fallon International Media Travel Fund scholar and a Women’s Press Club feature writing scholarship recipient. She served as a music writer at the Pittsburgh City Paper and was a staff writer and reporter at The Mon Valley Independent, covering local news and politics. Her work has appeared in Postindustrial, Galway Independent, PittsburghTribune-Review, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and others. She is the director of the upcoming documentary You’re at my House.
